Childhood Cartoons

Three of the cartoons that shapped my childhood and helped to spark my love for storytelling are Fraggle Rock, Pound Puppies and Heman.

Celestial Bodies and Jaded Update

I have been working on the next book (series) for a little bit and have come pretty far with it. I am at the point of deciding if the series is good as I have it laid out or if I can make it into a longer series with the characters involved. There are honestly so many options for this that it’s giving me a headache.
Main characters names are Celeste and Alex.
Supporting male characters names are Jaime and Thomas.

Jaded is now Kindle exclusive (has been for about a week or two I believe) and is also available in paperback. I partnered with Kinky Literature (clicking on the link will take you to my author page there) which is an Amazon affiliate that will help promote erotica books for free (with a link directly to Amazon which plays well with their requirements). I recommend checking them out if you are on a budget but still need promotion for your work. (If I find any others that are low to no cost I will definitely share them here on the blog).

Well, that’s about it for the updates. Other than writing and being sick it’s been an uneventful week here at the house. I hope that this post finds you all well.

Bunnies and Bites

Years ago I wrote silly articles for a blog that was geared towards Blackberry. While going through some old files and doing the monthly organization/purge I came across Bunnies and Bites. I still think that it’s cute so I thought that I would share it here.

Bunnies and Bites

At Christmas time with the help of NORAD we can track where Santa has been and where he is going next. So the next logical step in the holiday ladder is; where is the Easter Bunny? Lela and I searched and searched but came up with nothing. So we made up our own tracking system. With the use of Blackberry Maps and a few friends and families addresses we have the solution to the question my kids have been asking for the last few days.

The process was so simple I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner. We just went into BB Maps and found a location and pulled a screenshot and saved it to my SD card for “future use” ;).

From what I hear, the Easter Bunny was tired when he got into Scottsdale because after he checked into his Suite at the undisclosed 5 star hotel, he just had to stop off and get a latte at the local Paradise Bakery.

After I mapped out his route to our house I set alerts that corresponded to my schedule for Saturday night and Easter Sunday. My boys usually ask at the same time every year lol; kind of got it down to a science.

Now every Easter we have an Easter egg hunt at my in-laws and then a humongous Italian feast that is at least 3 courses. So this year I decided that I would be smart about it and track my calorie intake and watch what I eat. Last year I ended up feeling like I was a stuffed bunny. LOL

I found a Daily Log of Calories that calculates both the calories and fat percentage in an Excel spread sheet and with the combined use of that and the free nutrition app from the Blackberry App Store I am good to go. ☺ More on the detailed use of the log coming next week.

Until then, HAPPY EASTER! Stay dry and safe.

Always,

Chardonnay and Lela

NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo Days 1 & 2 & 3

As the end of day three comes around I have finally found my zone. I have had company this week. My mom and I had a blast just hanging out. Thursday we took my youngest to his schools fall festival and then she had to go home. I wish she could stay forever. Better yet, I wish she could move into the house that’s for sale down the street. Today my husband and I “adulted” and I was able to get some writing done in the car while driving around town.

One of the best parts of the fall festival was seeing my 14-year-old riding a pedal car.

On this day I realized just how grown up my “baby” is. I watched him pass by the playthings he used to love. I watched him carry on conversations with meaning about his passions. I watched him as he ventured into the world of teenager, and actually saw him as such.

I also experienced a first.

Nothing like having your teeth floating and having to do the potty dance while you waited in line for a token.

Day 1 – I wrote 673 words.

Day 2 – I didn’t write.

Day 3 – I was in the zone.

Thursday evening I got to spend some quality time with my husband at dinner. Little moments like that allow me to fall in love with him all over again. This month will be 14 years married and 15 years together.

After dinner I got to curl up with my fur baby and husband, watch tv, and get some rest.

General

Character Crushes

If I had to choose five fictional characters to fall in love with (such a burden, I know) they would be the ones listed below. The reasons why are there as well.

  • Wade Garrett (Roadhouse)

I don’t know how this one needs any explanation. Sam Elliott is hot in his own right. Putting him in the role of Wade just seals the deal. There will always be something about a good looking man fighting that is a turn on for me.

  • Negan (The Walking Dead)

Great as a comic book character, and even better as real flesh and blood. Again, something about the badass, “don’t fuck with me” is just hot. Maybe it’s the fact that in the “end of times” I would want to be on the side of someone who doesn’t take shit but knows how to give it or maybe I just have a sick sense of what’s sexy. Either way, Negan makes number two on the character crush list.

  • Frank Castle (The Punisher – the original not the remake)

Dolph Lundgren has that mysterious look to him. Pair that with the bike and the “punishment” that his character Frank Castle is carrying out just does it for me.

Oh lord, I’m starting to see a pattern here. Should I be concerned?

  • Eric (The Crow)

Eric was my first character crush. I was 13-years-old when the movie came out and I probably watched it 13 times in a row. To this day, the sadness and passion the character portrays as well as the justice he is after is moving. It was and always will be a “I want someone to love me that much” type of crush.

Last but not least…

  • Luke Hobbs (Fast and Furious Franchise)

Those who know me personally know why this one is on the list. Those who know my husbands build know why this one is on the list. Anyone with a pulse should know why this one is on the list.

Unrelated side note: Dwayne Johnson and I have the same birthday.❤️
